I'm wondering if anyone has tried a rod holder while on the stream. One I saw is the Smith Creek rod clip. There is also an O'pros rod holder that caught my eye. Sometimes while landing a fish it'd be nice to have a spot for your rod. And there is also the technicality that wading a creek through private land you're not supposed to throw your rod on it.

Mmmm. Not sure if it would be a good solution, but I may try out the Smith one. The main issue I am concerned about is that I would not want to dunk my reel in the water. The holder looks great for standing in ankle deep water, but it looks like it would dangle a reel in the water. It may be worth having as an option though. When necessary to ditch my rod I find the best clean spot to place it. There are few moments, when midstream, that I have resorted to biting the rod handle or fastening it to my vest. The vest has several rod holder points. If u get one, let us know what u think of it. Happy fishing!

I use the O'Pro's. It works great for my but would have liked a more neutral color. Mine is powder blue. I'm surprised that I don't tangle line up in it's "hooks," bit that's never happened.

The new o'pros one (the third hand) looks pretty sweet.
