I picked up copies of the MN and WI dnr trout books that have maps and regulations in them and of course they're a helpful resource. I'm just wondering if there are any other map sources out there? For example when looking at the heart of SE MN trout fishing, it would be nice to have a big fold out map with the greater Lanesboro/Preston area on it, and like wise for the parts of WI that I fish. I did notice WI has nice pdf files on their website. Heck, it'd even be nice to have a large wall poster with trout streams on it to hang in the garage.

The Wisconsin Gazeteer is in my passenger seat whenever I go fishing. It's not a perfect resource, but combined with copies of the DNR maps, blown up to 11 X 17 size (thanks to the unknowing assistance of my company!!) and the book of easements, I can find most places.

I did make that poster for my wall hahaha... It’s not perfect because they didn’t do it exactly to scale, but oh well.

I can’t speak highly enough of the onX maps app for your phone. Gives you some stream easements as well and you can save maps to use them offline when you have no reception. It’s basically a plat book on your phone for I think 30$ a year I pay. Even shows the landowners address which helps for knocking on the right door to ask permission for access. You can do the satellite aerial map scouting and look who owns the land all at the same time. Highly recommend the app for hunting as well if you hunt a lot of public
